Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School

Bunbury Aldersey CE primary and nursery school is a happy and inclusive school where everyone matters. We aim to provide the very best education for all the children in our care, by contributing to their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. Through God’s guidance we encourage each and every child to 'let their light shine.'

Our children are our richest resource and we seek to foster a love of learning and of life. We believe that education empowers children to make informed choices about their life and to choose their future. Our mission is to nurture the unique potential of every child through our Christian values

We pride ourselves on being an extended family in which everyone is valued within our learning community. We believe that the relationships we develop with our children and their families enables us to create a warm and welcoming ethos which is so evident throughout our school.

We actively encourage hard work, high expectations and happiness through our broad and balanced curriculum.

Our aim is to help to prepare children to value and embrace their future. Bunbury is a very special school where staff and children work together, supported by our Christian faith to create a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all. We are a Church of England Primary School with strong links to St Boniface Church, Bunbury and the community.

School Mission Statement

Bunbury is a single form entry primary school serving the parish and community of Bunbury. Our school is family and community orientated. We have good relationships with our families and our local church. Since 2017.

Matthew 5, 14 – 16: You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way ,Let Your Light Shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

The vision for Bunbury is encapsulated in our school motto: "Let your Light Shine". We are always working to build a community in which everyone is empowered to know the best of themselves and to have the confidence to use their talents for the good of themselves and their communities. We help all members of our community to become resilient to the challenges that they may face both now and in the
future.

Our core values provide a foundation on which we build relationships and educational experiences. They stand as a framework against which we can test the daily life of the school. This is what we do.

SUCCEED: Our curriculum development and delivery enable children to develop key skills and wider talents to a high standard. Through strategic investment and deployment, we will reduce the impact of barriers to learning and personal development such as SEND and mental health. Through planned challenge, children will develop resilience and perseverance to enable them to succeed.

HOPE: We face the challenges of the modern world in a manner that is full of hope. We will educate our pupils to become transformational citizens that affect positive change in local communities and across the globe.

INSPIRE: Through first class teaching, high– quality resources and engaging experiences, we broaden our pupils’ knowledge of the world and increase opportunity. Children will develop a curiosity and wonder about the world.

NURTURE: We help our children to develop into reflective and empathetic people. We focus on building positive relationships and enabling children to know what a positive, healthy relationship looks like. We target interventions based on individual and family need, having a positive impact on our whole community’s physical, spiritual and mental wellbeing.

EMPOWER: Children take ownership over their learning and behaviours. They contribute to decision making that affects themselves, their classes and the whole school. They learn about Christian and British vales that enable them to become active citizens.
