At the heart of everything is a personalised approach to each unique individual as part of our Christian Community. The strong family ethos ensures that all children and staff feel valued, respected and grow in self-confidence. Enthusiastic and caring staff with high expectations, demonstrate care of the whole child. Through God's guidance we encourage each and every child to let their light shine.
St. Oswald's Worleston is a happy and successful rural village school where children, adults and the wider community learn together in a caring Christian family. Our mission is to nurture the unique potential of every child through our Christian values. Our school vision, written by our pupils, is to be 'a caring Christian family where we grow together'.
We are justifiably proud of our high academic standards, achieved because of our small class sizes and committed teaching staff who know and value our children as individuals. Every decision we make centres around what is best for our pupils.
We passionately believe that "educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all" (Aristotle), and that "education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire" (W.B. Yeats). We seek to educate the whole child through a structured thematic curriculum approach supported by an extensive range of deep enrichment activities. We regularly share our work with parents and the community through our termly exhibitions, when work from every pupil is proudly displayed for all to see.
We highly value our family atmosphere and all work hard together to ensure that every person in our 'family' is happy, engaged and involved in all aspects of school life.

Let Your Light Shine

At St Oswald's Worleston we aim to give children a Primary Education they will never forget, rich with diverse opportunites and experiences set within a Christian context. We are very proud of our school and its family ethos – underpinned by Christian Values. The Church school values we teach the children are the foundation of our school, taught through making links to Bible stories, SEAL and Fruits of the Spirit, enabling our children to make choices and decisions, both in and out of school. Our strong inclusive ethos places pupils at the heart with pupils making an outstanding contribution to the school and local communities.
We welcome all children and their families and see every child as an individual, valuing the contributions of all children across all areas of school life. We provide a high standard of education in a secure, happy environment. We aim for children to become confident, enquiring and independent learners, ready to challenge themselves, and enjoy and value learning.
We expect children to strive for their best in all areas of school life – religious, academic, physical, artistic and recreational.
We promote and achieve high standards of self-discipline and behaviour. We provide opportunities for every child to develop the social skills of tolerance and consideration, mutual respect and care within a Christian world.
We value the vital partnership between home and school, with parents and staff working together for the benefit of the children as we prepare them for success in the challenges of an ever changing world.
