We are very proud to present St George's CE Primary and Nursery school. We are one-form entry primary school and serve a local community in the town centre of Hyde. St George's is situated next to St George's church and the school has regular links with the church and its congregation. We serve families from minority ethnic backgrounds and Bangladeshi pupils from the largest single group in the school. Our Christian distinctiveness is central to our everyday life in school, and we celebrate our links with other religions and grow in faith together.
Our Christian vision, 'Let all that you do be done in Love', is at the heart of all that we do and our mission statement, 'where children love to learn and learn to love' is threaded through all aspects of our work. Every child is valued and included, as we aim to provide an educational experience that meets the needs and allows all children to feel they belong and know they are loved by God. Exceptionally positive attitudes to learning, high expectations, plus respectful and caring relationships are the hallmark of pupils of our successful school.
St George's joined the CDAT Trust in 2020 to be part of an academy Trust that is forward thinking and to network with other schools which are similar but also which bring new challenges to our thinking. We are keen to share good practice and broaden our experiences and opportunities to provide the best education for our children and families. We are very proud of our school and want our children, parents and community to feel proud of belonging to the St George's family too.
Let all that you do be done in Love (1 Corinthians 16:14)
The example of Jesus Christ and the Good news that he brings inspire St George’s school to be a place of hope and a caring and inclusive community in which we all love to learn and learn to love.
At St George's we try hard to create a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere, which shows the importance we give to the Christian Gospel, its values and beliefs. These values hold a central place in our relationships with each other, in what we teach and in our aspirations for all the children.
Our chosen core Christian values are:
Love, Compassion, Friendship, Thankfulness, Truthfulness, Forgiveness, Hope
